Built for everyone.
Accessibility is part of the design, not a pass at the end. This is the checklist every asset is reviewed against before it is published.
The review
- Native first. Real buttons, inputs, dialogs and labels. ARIA is added only where HTML has no equivalent, following the WAI-ARIA Authoring Practices pattern.
- Keyboard. Every interaction works without a pointer, focus order follows reading order, and focus is always visible.
- Screen readers. State changes are announced, such as verifying, success or a new toast. Decorative layers like canvases, glare and marquees are hidden.
- Motion. With
prefers-reduced-motion, animation finishes instantly or becomes a still frame. Nothing auto-advances. - Contrast. Default palettes are checked for WCAG 2.2 AA text contrast in light and dark.
- Touch. Targets are at least 40px where practical, and nothing depends on hover alone.
Your part
The components handle their own semantics. You still own context: meaningful labels, a sensible heading outline, and checking contrast after you change colours. Each asset page lists notes specific to that component.
