Your agent, with taste.
Sundae MCP connects your coding agent to the library. It searches for the right component, reads the docs and writes the real source into your project, so the interface it builds starts from considered design instead of a guess.

Connect in a minute
One endpoint, https://sundaeui.dev/api/mcp, over Streamable HTTP, built on the official MCP TypeScript SDK. It is stateless, so there is nothing to keep running. Pick your client:
Claude Code
VerifiedRun this in your project. Omit the header to use free assets only.
claude mcp add --transport http sundae https://sundaeui.dev/api/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer $SUNDAE_TOKEN"Check it with claude mcp list; Sundae should show as connected. Verified by us: connection, an invalid token rejected with 401, and tool calls run through Claude Code.
Free and Pro access
Without a token your agent can search, read every doc and install every free asset. To install Pro source, create a token in your account and send it as Authorization: Bearer sk_sundae_….
Access is checked on the server for every call, against the same subscription records as the website. Tokens are stored only as hashes, can be revoked at any time, and carry exactly your account’s access. An invalid or revoked token is rejected with HTTP 401 instead of quietly falling back to anonymous.
Things to ask
- “Search Sundae for a pricing section with a yearly toggle and add it to /pricing.”search_components → get_component → get_component_source
- “Find a distinctive animated hero in Sundae and install it.”browse_category (sections) → get_install_instructions → get_component_source
- “Find a Sundae dashboard sidebar and show me its props before installing.”search_components → get_usage_example
- “What else in Sundae goes with the command palette?”find_related
- “Show me editorial-style components from Sundae that are free.”search_components with tier: free
Tools

| list_categories | Every category with a description and how many assets it holds. |
| browse_category | Page through one category, optionally only free or only pro. |
| get_component | Full documentation: description, when to use it, props, variants, keyboard support, accessibility, dependencies, usage and whether this connection can read the source. |
| get_usage_example | The usage example, props and variants for one asset. |
| get_install_instructions | Target folder, shadcn command, dependencies, styling requirements and whether Pro is needed. |
| get_component_source | The actual source files, ready to write under components/sundae/. Free assets need no token; Pro assets need a token for an account with active Pro. |

| get_account | Whether this connection is authenticated and has Pro. |
Troubleshooting
- 401 “Invalid or revoked Sundae API token”
- The token in your
Authorizationheader is wrong or was revoked. Create a new one in your account. Leave the header out entirely to use free assets without a token. - Pro source says “auth_required”
- No token is configured. Add
Authorization: Bearer sk_sundae_…to the server config and restart the client. - Pro source says “pro_required”
- The token works, but its account doesn’t have active Pro. Check your account or upgrade.
- The client lists no tools
- Make sure the client supports remote MCP servers over Streamable HTTP and that the URL is exactly
https://sundaeui.dev/api/mcp. Restart the client after editing its config.
